The Acolyte, the next Star War live-action series, debuts June 4th on Disney+.

Disney+ lit up London this week with the UK premiere of Lucasfilm’s upcoming Star Wars series, THE ACOLYTE at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square. The first two episodes of the live-action show were unveiled, and the series’ stars, including Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Charlie Barnett, and Rebecca Henderson, were in attendance. Even the Wookiee Kelnacca made an appearance! Creator, showrunner, and executive producer Leslye Headland, along with producer Rayne Roberts, were also in attendance. This new thrilling series premieres on Tuesday, June 4th, 2024, exclusively on Disney+. In THE ACOLYTE, a revered Jedi Master (played by Lee Jung-jae) embarks on a complex investigation of a shocking crime spree, coming across a formidable warrior from his past (portrayed by Amandla Stenberg). As the story unfolds, they journey down a mysterious path where dark forces reveal that nothing is as it seems.

The star-studded cast includes Amandla Stenberg (playing Osha and Mae), Lee Jung-jae (Jedi Master Sol), Manny Jacinto (Qimir), Dafne Keen (Jecki Lon), Charlie Barnett (Yord Fandar), Jodie Turner-Smith (Mother Aniseya), Rebecca Henderson (Vernestra Rwoh), Dean-Charles Chapman, Joonas Suotamo (Kelnacca), and Carrie-Anne Moss (Jedi Master Indara).

Leslye Headland, inspired by George Lucas’ Star Wars universe, led the creation of this series. She also serves as an executive producer, alongside Kathleen Kennedy, Simon Emanuel, Jeff F. King, and Jason Micallef. Charmaine DeGraté and Kor Adana join as co-executive producers, with Rayne Roberts, Damian Anderson, Eileen Shim, and Rob Bredow taking on producer roles.

Headland directed the premiere episodes (Episodes 1 & 2). Other talented directors for the series include Kogonada (Episodes 3 & 7), Alex Garcia Lopez (Episodes 4 & 5), and Hanelle Culpepper (Episodes 6 & 8).

The series’ soundtrack is in the capable hands of award-winning composer Michael Abels, known for his work on “Get Out” and “Us,” ensuring that THE ACOLYTE will be both a visual and auditory masterpiece.

Star Wars: THE ACOLYTE will debut exclusively on Disney+ on Tuesday, June 4, 2024.
