TWISTER SEQUEL
Twisters is a modern-day continuation of the 1996 smash hit Twister, brought to you by the creators of the Jurassic, Bourne, and Indiana Jones movie series. Directed by Lee Isaac Chung, the Oscar-nominated visionary behind Minar, Twisters open in theaters on July 19, 2024. The movie features Golden Globe nominee Daisy Edgar-Jones (Where the Crawdads Sing, Normal People) and Glen Powell (Anyone But You, Top Gun: Maverick) as rival forces united in a quest to predict and possibly tame the mighty power of tornadoes.
TWISTERS MOVIE PLOT
Edgar-Jones takes on the role of Kate Cooper, a former storm chaser who is still haunted by a traumatic tornado encounter from her college days. Now working behind a desk in New York City, she safely studies storm patterns from a distance. However, she’s drawn back to the open plains by her friend Javi (Golden Globe nominee Anthony Ramos, from In the Heights) to test a revolutionary new tracking system. There, she meets Tyler Owens (played by Powell), a daredevil social media star who thrives on capturing his dangerous storm-chasing escapades with his wild crew.
As storm season intensifies, unprecedented and terrifying phenomena are unleashed. Kate, Tyler, and their rival teams find themselves in the direct path of multiple converging storm systems over central Oklahoma, battling for their lives against nature’s fury.
